Arts Coterie Project Journal

How a little August release recap turned into a story about getting here. Greetings and salutations! If you are new here, welcome, and if you are returning, welcome back. I am excited to have you here in our very colourful and increasingly expansive Coterie world. Patrick is the name. The founder of the Arts Coterie Project, and I am also the voice behind Reverend Graye.  I am Gen X, which means I had the wonderful experience of growing up from the 1970s onward with what we now call classic rock, disco, new wave, punk, alternative and industrial music, along with whatever great Billboard hit happened to be everywhere at the time. Progressive Hook Records · Pop Art After Midnight Pop Art After Midnight: The Stories Behind the Songs This was such a fun album to produce. Pop Art After Midnight lives in this whole retro world inspired by Pop Art, Studio 54, 90s club culture, fashion, sex, nightlife, John Waters, and a retrospective of being gay in the early 90s before the alphabet mafia started colonizing the LGB community to its nonsense today. It’s that moment when they finally say the thing out loud and you’re sitting there thinking: “...

The track is the first feature single from the upcoming collaborative album Pop Art After Midnight , bringing HVH and Reverend Graye together across a project built to move freely between moods, sounds and different versions of the night. Listen now on SoundCloud: Global release: September 10, 2026 SoundCloud First At Arts Coterie Project , we have started calling this approach SoundCloud First . There are practical reasons for it. We value SoundCloud’s artist-focused payout model, and our experience with the platform has made it an important home for releasing music before it moves into the wider streaming ecosystem. There is also something about the listening culture there that feels different to us. SoundCloud still feels like a place where people arrive specifically to listen to music. There is a sense of curiosity and de...
